On October, 30 to November, 1 at the Department of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry of SHEI "Uzhhorod National University" students were able able to attend the Basic Life Support course.

This course has been the first in the 2015/2016 academic year and the fifth in general and passed under the auspices of the Ukrainian Medical Students' Association! The participants have mastered the technique of first emergency aid to victims in emergency situations.

On May 7th , 2015 the first university training on Basic Life Support held by Ukrainian Medical Students' Association took place in "Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University"! The participants were the students of IFNMU. After the presentation, students could train first emergency care technics, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of the automated external defibrillator. Also, students could learn and practise how to stable position of the human body. Training conducted certified instructors of Ukrainian Council of Resuscitation – R.Grytsyk and O.Trombola

On April, 18th-19th 2015 the first university courses in Basic Life Support held by Ukrainian Medical Students' Association took place at the Department of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry of Uzhhorod National University. Congratulations to all participants on passing and reciving certificates of Ukrainian Council of Reanimation

We are happy to announce that the final stage of instructors courses, in compliance with BLS program (Basic Life Support), took place this weekend at the Scientific-Practical Center of Disaster Medicine. The students of UzhNU, ZSMU and NMU have gained the trainer's certificates of Ukrainian Resuscitation Council.

Within the project "Medical volunteer", 180 students from all over Ukraine have gained BLS instructors' certificates.

Henceforth, UMSA's BLS certified instructors will train everyone who is willing to acquire the first medical aid skills according to the latest European Resuscitation Council standards; to improve the automatism of cardiopulmonary resuscitation algorithm and become more self-confident.

Within the Ukrainian-wide project "Medical volunteer", led by Ukrainian Medical Students' Association (UMSA), the courses of Basic Life Support (BLS) was conducted for second to fifth year students in Vinnitsya National Medical University.

The aim of project is to prepare "Medical volunteers" who would be able to provide basic medical aid and save lives in case of emergency!

The Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor's course is coming to its end. Trainees from Karazin National University and Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University have ably worked out the practical skills on cardiopulmonary resuscitation, limbs immobilization, bleeding arrest, Heimlich maneuver and the ability to use automated defibrillator.

A wonderful weekend with wonderful people! Ranks of BLS instructors have swelled by Lviv National Medical University and Uzhhorod National University students. Volunteers have improved their practical skills on cardiopulmonary resuscitation, limbs immobilization and arrest of bleeding. Our colleges have received certificates of All-Ukrainian Reanimation Council. Of course, they had passed tests and stress-test previously. Soon our instructors will teach medical aid basics to medical students, young doctors and common citizens. They will be registered then into Unified List of Medical Volunteers, if they would like to. Medical volunteers will arrive at the place of incidents in case of emergency and deliver first medical aid!

Students and residents of Odessa National Medical University and Vinnitsia Pirogov National Medical University have received certificates of Basic Life Support (BLS) instructors within all-Ukrainian project "Medical volunteer" established by Ukrainian Medical Students Association (UMSA).

Certified instructors have already amazed colleges by an excellent BLS skills, and now they are preparing for teaching colleges and ordinary citizens, who had shown initiative to gain skills of first medical aid supply.

The aim of project is preparing "Medical volunteers" who would be able to supply first medical aid and save lives in case of emergency!

Congratulations for successful passing of BLS instructors' course to students of Kharkiv National Medical University and Dnipropetrovs'k Medical School of MH of Ukraine!

Now they have right to teach future volunteers and all interested people the BLS course for free due to owning certificates of All-Ukrainian Reanimation Council.

Studies lasted for two days on a basis of Catastrophe Medicine Kyiv Educational Center. Participants passed tests and situational stress-test at the end of the course. It also was a great weekends in company of interesting people and useful studying.

180 students of all Ukrainian medical universities will receive BLS instructors' certificates within the project.

Ranks of BLS instructors swelled these weekends! Students and residents of Bogomolets National Medical University and Bucovinian State Medical University underwent courses of BLS instructors and received certificates of All-Ukrainian Reanimation Counsil.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is a course of medical aid supply in case of emergency for people in life threatening condition (traumas, breath suspension, bleeding etc.). Studies lasted for two days on a basis of Catastrophe Medicine Kyiv Educational Center. Participants passed tests and situational stress-test at the end of the course.

Additionally 180 students of all Ukrainian medical universities will receive BLS instructors' certificates within the project. Further certified instructors will teach free the BLS course future volunteers and all interested people.
